I can relate to Margie's story, I love playing chess, but when i got beaten during my freshman year in high school I suddenly quit. But I'd still find myself having the urge to play even though I still have the negative feeling that I could be beaten again. But somehow, along the way, I finally realized that its not about winning or losing, it's about passion and the enjoyment you felt in fulfilling your heart's desire. =)

Margie, great story. Never count yourself out. Practice does make perfect.
At age 79 I became a volunteer in the computer learning center at a local community college. Knowing little about computers, I learned more from these young students than I could ever impart to them.
I then began taking one three credit course a semester. I now have 27 credits and hopefully, if I complete the English course I'm now taking, I'll have 30 credits. But, hey, I'm only a kid: I'm turning 87 on 2/25/2008.

Right on, Margie! Persistence -- especially when things get tough -- is what helps us to break through to whole new levels of being! We come to know more of our own strength, our capabilities, and it opens up new possibilities -- for ourselves and for others! When we choose growth, and stand more in the truth of who we really are, it gives others the example and permission to do the same! Thanks for being such a great example!!

Thanks for the great story--we all think, at various times in our lives, that something will be too hard, too much work. The secret is knowing that it is never too late to "get back into the game" and that goals and the determination to reach them through the work needed to do so, will pay off in the long haul. One day at a time...thanks again.
