The best time to start

by joe on August 27, 2007

There’s never a good time to start a project, or quit your job and start your business, or finish painting that room you started last year, or invest in that opportunity you don’t want to miss.  The timing never works out.  The best possible opportunities always tend to present themselves at the worst possible times.  Seth Godin wrote a great article about it a while back.

The best time to start was last year. The second best time to start is right now.

You can read the original article at Seth’s blog.

Joe that was such a great quote. Here are some of my favourites I think other will enjoy and find helpful.
The 5 steps in choosing to win and be a champion.

Step 1. Balance-The fist step to success, because without balance in you life, it’s impossible to find a stable platform on which to build you dreams and keep you ego down.
Step 2. Hard work and Perseverance- No dream can be turned into reality without a hard work ethic and perseverance, which comes from finding enjoyment and hunger in watching each layer form.
Step 3. Learn and Improve- Learn from experiences and people around you. The best goal you can have is improvement which, no matter how big or small, always raises you to the next level.
Step 4. Self-focus- The fastest way to victory is a rock solid self focus to keep out distractions which will destabilise you from your tower of goals.
Step 5. Self believing- Finally, you cannot overcome your toughest obstacles and choose to win until you believe you can.

Attitude is a little thing that makes a BIG difference.

Teamwork is the fuel that allows common people to reach uncommon goals.

Quality- the race for quality has no finish line!

Opportunity- Victory is what happens when ten thousand hours of preparation meet with one moment of opportunity.

Perseverance- the difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.

Determination- The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep running.

Success- most people dream of success… while others wake up and work hard for it.

I really liked some of the quotes written here. What qualifies a person to write his or her favorite quote? Why does reading other quotes compels us to write our own? Anyhow, here is one of my favorite quotes by Andrew Carnegie 1835-1919. PEOPLE WHO ARE UNABLE TO MOTIVATE THEMSELVES MUST BE CONTENT WITH MEDIOCRITY, NO MATTER HOW IMPRESSIVE THEIR OTHER TALENTS.

It’s too bad so many of these great quotes are unattributed. The author of each should be recognized.
